This client management license (ML) allows one nonserver device to be managed by System Center Configuration Manager 2007. If a device has multiple operating system environments (OSEs), a separate ML is required for each OSE managed by Configuration Manager.

User MLs are also available. A user ML allows any number of nonserver OSEs to be managed by Configuration Manager as long as only one user has access to them.

Standard and enterprise server MLs are also available. A server ML is required for each server (that is, each device running a server operating system) managed by Configuration Manager. The standard ML allows for management of basic server operating system workloads, while the enterprise ML is necessary for management of server applications and other premium workloads.
